Information
Xmas Shopping is one of the main retail experiences of the year. Whether it could be called retail therapy depends on your individual enjoyment of large scale shopping.
High Street shops are very welcoming at this time of year, brightly lit and cheerfully decorated with the themes of the season, mainly to do with Santa Claus and buying lots of presents for each other. That is their function of course and many people thoroughly enjoy entering into the Christmas Spirit, or perhaps nowadays, the Holiday Spirit.
There are just as many of us who have no particular desire to jostle in amongst the crowds of shoppers, and the advent of internet shopping must have been a gift to them at Christmas time.
Browsing the online stores in the comfort of your own home (or office!) can provide quite as much shopping enjoyment as many of us need, the range of goods on offer is quite amazing, prices are very competitive, as the merchants do not have the cost of High Street, or Shopping Mall stores.
So, it is very likely you will be able to save money by shopping online and saving money is something we all need to do in these credit crunch times. Don’t be too concerned about the cost of delivery, many online shops offer free delivery, specially if you make a decent sized order, and it is much handier having your gifts delivered to your home, than dragging them to the park and ride.
A useful tip for delivery, many of the stores have an option to add delivery instructions, which can be particulrly useful if you are out at work during the day. Just use the instruction field to say what to do if you are not at home when the courier or postman calls. Our favourite is “if out leave with any neighbour”, and you will get a card through the door telling you where your goodies are.
Enjoy your Xmas Shopping!
